Breast lump- petrified

Hi everyone,

I found a lump in my right breast last night. I've prodded it so much that I'm not sure if it moves/fixed, soft/ hard, regaular/soft anymore. I think it's quite fixed and irregular, but it's in the lower right of the boob so I can't be sure. I check my breasts quite regularly so I think this is a pretty new lump, but it's quite big and I don't know how I missed it!

I have booked a doctors appointment on Tuesday but it's over the phone. I'm going to call tomorrow to try and get a face to face appointment instead.

I'm just so petrified. I'm 36, have 3 children (6, 3, 1), due to move house in to my dream home before Christmas. Every time I look at them I'm so close to tears. I just feel sick.

I just need to get all this down. Everyone around me is saying it will be OK, but my mind won't stop going to the worst case scenario.

Anyway, not how I expected to spend my Sunday. Hello to everyone out there and tha k you for reading x

  • Hi,

I've just come across your post, I know exactly how you feel I found a lump a month ago in my left breast, its hot and painful, it moves ect. The first 2 weeks I constantly cried, couldn't look/touch my boobs, took ages to get up the courage to go in the bath/shower, cried while washing/drying. I cried constantly. Still cry off and on now. Still can't look at them/touch them with out getting teary.

My doctor filled out an urgent 2 week referral and i'm still waiting well over a month later. I hope you manage to get an appointment soon. I have also been chasing up my appointments my self, the booking centre told me that they don't contact people with in 2 weeks and then my doctors receptionist told me that because I am under 40 I have to wait as long as it take.

I really hope that your appointment comes soon for you, because for me as someone who has just turned 30 this is absolutely awful to be going through. The emotions, worrying, crying constantly. This is the only place that I have found for support during this time.

I have my fingers crossed that you get an appointment soon x
