Biopsy

Hi

I am 58 years old and attended the GP 3 weeks ago through an insect bite. I also mentioned the nurse that I had been going to the toilet more in the night. Because of that she took my bloods and my PSA come back as 12. I then was referred on the 2 weeks cancer pathway and had a DRE were he found no external lesions, other than my prostrate was high up. He sent me for a MRI scan and I was told today that I have 2 lesions in the prostrate. I now have to go for a biopsy. I am so frightened. The only symptom I had was urinating more. I have not lost weight, no blood in semen or urine, good urine flow, I can stop mid flow, absolutely nothing only that symptom. Any advise would be grateful. I am worried sick. Thank you.

  • Hello i wanted to answer your question as my husband had prostate cancer 20 years ago his psa was 41. He had 42 radio therapy sesions and the psa went down to 0.1. So please dont worry if you can because if it is bad news they can do something about it. Good luck.
