Hi, only just joined and hope this finds the thread I've been reading. Not that great with technology.
I was sent to A&E by GP on Monday with bad tummy pain. More upper abdomen really. I was there for over 12 hours and they admitted me as said the CT showed something on scan. Also had bit of blood in urine. They had me all prepared for emergency surgery but when consultant visited in morning he said he wanted to consult with colleagues, what I had was extremely rare and he would see me in his clinic for further tests and I would need surgery.
it was only when I was been discharged that I saw the diagnosis written down, and no chance to find out more.
I now have appointment on 27 Sept at his clinic. I am very scared having spent too long researching this condition. Can't sleep and I'm quite a bit of pain in that area now as well.
They also gave me Omaprazole but that stuff goes right through me and makes my heart race as well, so have stopped that and upper tummy feels a little more comfortable. I am wondering though if this is referred pain from appendix. He said it was very large and has been there a long time.
I originally had pain in this area in 2017 and had all sorts of tests, mostly gynae and gastro and was told it was muscle strain. Never has CT or MRI at that time.
scared as I am, I am beyond grateful to the lovely young doctor in A&E who was so thorough.
I am reassured to see others have come through this. Or May not even be cancer but I am preparing for that outcome.
thanks
M
