Scared and feel so alone

Hi 

I have found a lump on my right breast it's hard and round, small but quite prominent I have an appointment next Wednesday and I've been putting it out of my mind until tonight. I'm now thinking the worst.

My husband left me 6 weeks ago and it's been a horrendous time and now this. I am 40 and have two children and I'm just so scared if it's cancer as on my own now. 
 

The doctor was saying she thought it was a cyst but I just don't know how she could tell. 
 

It seems like such a long wait until next Wednesday :-(

    i have been the breast clinic many times over the past 5 years. Each time my GP said it was a cyst , and it was. I have loads in my right breast and they feel exactly as you describe.

    I was diagnosed with breast cancer last month but this felt more like a thickening than a defined lump. I went the GP and he said straight away that it wasn't a cyst and he was right. When I saw it on the ultrasound, it had very jagged edges, hence why it doesn't feel like a lump.

    I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you. 8/10 lumps are benign. I hope you have lots of support round you. Sending love x

    Thank you for your response and I am very sorry for your diagnosis and hope you are doing ok, 

    I am the same I have 3 already in my right breast so I do know it can be begnign but it's just unnerving as it does seem quite prominent and I've been having pain at times and itchiness also.
