Hi Folks, I've been reading some of your posts, which has been helpful. I'm after some reassurance. I'm 49 years old. It's two years since my periods stopped. In mid june I started bleeding, just a little at first but became very heavy for about two weeks then settled back to being a bit lighter. It's now VERY heavy again.  

I spoke to my GP back in July. I was given an urgent referral for an ultrasound but that only happened today. Some 6 weeks after my call to the GP.

The gynaecologist said the lining of my womb was a bit thicker than it should be and she did a hysteroscopy today too. I've a 4 week wait for the results and I'm extremely anxious.
