Nipple inversion

Hello,

Any advice welcome as im very anxious and worried waiting for my two week referral to come. I recently noticed my right nipple has become more drawn in than normal. I went to the GP who examined me. Of course my nipple popped right out as soon as i had to undress! It also pops out when touched or cold. Anyway she said that she couldn't feel any lumps or bumps or swellings but was referring me for a mammogram. I only had a mammogram last year just after i turned 40 so it feels overwhelming that something could of developed in just under a year.

Anyway what i wanted to ask the doctor was that if a nipple can be stimulated outwards or does so of its own accord when cold , does this mean the likihood of it being cancerous is less? Does an inversion due to cancer mean a nipple is permanently drawn inwards and cant be teased out? I'm so worried. I feel like i can't wait the two weeks and then have to wait for results. Im supposed to be going on holiday on the 11th of September but feel i can't go now because i won't relax. Anyone had similar nip stories?!
