So I went to my appt, the ultrasound showed an enlarged lymph node in my breast, I had to have a biopsy, now a week wait, I AM SO SCARED 

They couldn't find a lump on the ultrasound just the swollen lymph node which they have done a biopsy on. I am crying constantly it is so scary, surely if they weren't worried they wouldn't have done a biopsy?! 

I wouldn't say they are worried, more that they are doing a thorough check. Did you show them where your lump was and they couldn't see it?

Enlarged lymph nodes on their own are just a sign your body is fighting infection somewhere or even an injury. 
 

I do have breast cancer and when I was diagnosed 3 weeks ago they scanned my lymph nodes and one was showing enlarged. They biopsied it but said that 1 lymph node doesn't concern them even if it shows cancer. Anyway, it came back clear and they rescanned it again and it had gone back to normal. They said it was just "one of those things"

I'm sure you will be fine. Waiting for results is always worrying. Just try and keep busy and not overthink it. Until you actually get your results, any fears you may have are just thoughts and not facts. Stay positive x

Hey, so sorry to hear you have breast cancer if you ever needs a chat feel free to message me. I did show them where I thought the lump was but on ultrasound it didn't show up, so must be tissue. I'm hoping the one enlarged lymph node is nothing serious. Thankyou for your help x 

Hey, just updating on my day. Had scan and biopsy. Consultant thinks it's a fibroadenoma which is harmless. He said he's confident biopsy will be fine and unlikely to come back with anything concerning. X

Hey [@Nunwardle]‍ glad to hear they're confident it's nothing serious, you must be feeling very relieved!

[@pumpkin22]‍ sorry it's inconclusive but as others have said lymph nodes just show an infection or illness is taking place and it could be anything really. So hopefully you can find some hope in that.

I've just posted about my traumatic experience at the beast clinic today! They said it's not anything obviously benign like lipoma or adenoma so I had to have a surgical biopsy after the needle wouldn't go in the lump as it was too hard :cry:

So I'm still playing the waiting game, should get results in a couple of weeks which is around the time the sarcoma people want me for an MRI. Hopefully they can share the results as I'd rather not repeat the experience of a biopsy!  How long do you have to wait for your results? We can keep each other company in the meantime xx

[@LauraRose85]‍ hey, sorry to hear about your bad experience! I have to wait a week atleast for my results, I feel like this will be the longest week ever, im really hoping a swollen lymph node on its own without a lump in the breast is a positive sign as they couldn't find my lump! 

Hi, just wondering what came of your lump ? Mine isn't showing up on ultrasound even though it's large and I've to have a biopsy soon
