confused as to what to do next

hi all,

recently found a lump in my boob that was quite big, didn't cause me any pain. managed to get seen to yesterday in a breast clinic, during my ultrasound they stated it was a cyst and that they would drain it and send off a sample of it to be tested. however when they tried to aspirate it, no fluid came out. they tried this several times poking and jabbing around my boob before they told me it was solid and possibly nothing to be concerned about, however there was also a bunch of smaller lumps like that around it too.

i was wondering if they should have done a biopsy since they couldn't get any fluid out? and if it's sometbing i should bring up or if i'm just being overly anxious about it.

  • Hi Chloe, were you seen before your ultrasound (at the breast clinic) by a doctor or afterwards to discuss the results? it's just that when I went to the one stop breast clinic (two different ones) in one I was seen by a doctor afterwards because something had showed on the mamogram, then had ultrasiound to aspirate a cyst. second clinic I was seen before by a breast consultant then sent for mammogram and ultrasound, the consultant then talked through my results with me. I am wondering if you should call your GP because the breast clinic should send a report through and discuss your concerns about what has happened and your thoughts about possible biopsy. There are lots of people on the group with experience of breast clinics so they might pop in with some help too.

    All the best
