Neck lymph node - not cancer!

I have been worrying about my neck lymph nodes for almost two months now & promised myself I'd do a post on here when I found out what was happening.
8 weeks ago I decided to check my neck lymph nodes. To my shock I found one which felt raised. I then googled & found about lymphoma (something I didn't know much about & now know far too much!). I decided then that I was itching, I had the odd sweaty night & felt like my groin hurt).
Went for my ultrasound today & the technician said there were quite a few lymph nodes in my neck he could see but none that were large. I asked about them being palpable/the fact I could feel them, he said many people can feel them but they doesn't mean they're swollen. He said in many lymphoma cases it is a large swelling & not a pea sized one as that is considered normal.
I'm so relieved as I have literally read every single post on here to try & make myself feel better.
It's always best to get checked out but the majority of the time, everything is just normal ️ ️

  • Hi Bluebell5. I am so pleased and happy for you that the lymph nodes are ok and that the sonographer was able to tell you straight away, It is always worth getting these things checked out and as you say the majority are not cancer. Lymph nodes enlarge a little when we are just under the weather. Always best to kepp an eye on them because now you have and all clear baseline of how "normal" feels.

    best wishes

  • Thank you so much for posting this. That's helped to reassure me that lymph nodes can quite often be felt. U.K. So glad you had good results x
