I've been down this route before with cancer. I struggled to get my GP to take me seriously 5 years ago and ended up waiting 10 months for a colon cancer diagnosis. I was lucky as it was all contained in a polyp and hadn't spread. I've finished the 5 year checks, I've been fine every since thank goodness. This past 6 - 7 months, I've had constant frequent urination. For a few months I wasn't too worried as I suffer with an overactive bladder/interstitial cystitis so assumed I was in a flare. When I couldn't calm it down with the usual meds I went to see my GP. She sent urine off and it came back with a rare UTI that she had never heard of before. Things didn't imrpove. I went back and was given a different medication for overactive bladder, Still no improvement. I've since had 3 further urine tests done at the lab and 2 further (different) UTI's diagnosed. I don't think I've had a UTI as a consultant once told me that e-coli can be found in most people as we all have it in our body. Anyway, this past few weeks have been unpleasant.. up many times a night to pee, constant stomach ache like periods pains (I'm 64 so can just about remember that!) have to stop the car to have a pee every time I go out. I've asked if I can have a sonography scan but GP won't send me (I've even offered to pay). Yesterday she said she would arrange for blood tests and is sending me for a CA125. That's in a few weeks time. Having had cancer, I DO have health anxiety and I really dont feel able to cope with it all again. Urine now shows red blood cells but no UTI so what can it be if not cancer? Red blood cells don't sound promising. It's all such a worry. I've got pain in my left ovary too. Regarding other symptoms, I'm trying to lose weight so I can't tell if I've lost more weight than I would have done. I don't feel bloated and I'm not full quickly, I feel quite hungry most of the time. Although there are red blood cells in my urine, I haven't seen any blood. I'm exhausted from being up so many times during the night to go to the loo. It can range from 7 - 15 times a night. Sorry to go on so much, I'm really struggling to deal with it all today.
