Worried what to do and where to go for help...

Hi Everyone,

Will try not to make this post too long and moany!  I'm 53 and think I'm post menopause as I had some spotting last year, that has since stopped and  it has been 12 months since I first went to my GP with bloated tummy, abdominal pain & back pain.  The pain is getting worse and is daily, with severe back pain, hurts to walk, bloated tummy (up a dress size) pelvic pain and in both sides mainly right side though recently and middle.  Was informed after scan last year that I had heamorrhagic ovarian cyst after ultrasound scan, GP sent to Gynae saying that its possible Ovarian cancer with the scan results & CA marker being raised? told it wasn't H. Cyst but an released egg ready for pregnancy, and that it wasn't my ovaries they were fine.  Told I had fibroids and polyp.  Had a hysteroscopy done to remove the poly, which was a benign polyp, no mention of fibroids anymore?! After hysteroscopy was told that my uterus had 'fused' together after an earlier ablation procedure years ago. My CA125 marker started at 73 last year, then went down to 49, and after going back to GP being in even worse pain recently, my CA marker was back up to 70? I now find hurts to urinate (which is a lot & urgency to it) and to defecate also.  There is a constant heavy feeling in my tummy and sometimes I will get shooting/stabbing pains that go down into my genitals which has recently got worse.  I have small clear blister type sores inside my vagina that keep re-occurring, but GP has said not to worry! I have since been discharged from Gynaecology and told to go back to my GP, even though things are getting worse, I feel no one is listening to me or helping me.  No one wants to help or seems interested, neither my GP or hospital.  I wonder if there are other women like me who feel lost, and scared, and left in this awful position of not knowing where to go and get help anymore?

Thanks for reading!

  • Hello. Sorry you have so much going on. My advice is to make a "nuisance' of yourself. You obviously aren't right and you don't feel right, so keep pestering your GP and tell them you want  a second opinion. I don't suppose you have any access to private healthcare via insurance? Have you looked into that? I hope something gets sorted and gives you peace of mind soon. Xx
