Shoulder Pain

Hi All

I've been worrying for the last month about a back/shoulder pain which seems to be getting worse.

I've been seeing a chiropractor and physio who reckon I've got poor posture from sitting at a desk but the exercises haven't loosened it up. It does seem to click and is better when I stand up and no night sweats, cough or other discernible symptoms although I seem to now feel queasy but I can't work out whether that is anxiety.

I'm 40 - I am a former smoker.

I'm making myself sick with worry as basically everything you search on the internet - silly I know - provides a bleak menu of causes.

I've been for an x-ray and waiting for the results.

I just wanted to hear from someone else in the same boat. Dr Google has a lot to answer for. Do they tend to call promptly if something serious is flagged up?

  • Hello Prodigy955,

A big welcome to our forum! I am sorry to hear that your shoulder pain has been getting worse and that the exercises haven't helped. It's best to stay well away from the temptation of looking things up on the internet as Dr Google is famously unreliable and tends to bring up the most dramatic results and worst case scenario when the cause of your shoulder pain is most likely unrelated to cancer.

I hope that you won't need to wait too long for your results. I can imagine it must be a very stressful time for you while waiting to find out more and there is useful advice on this page to help you cope while waiting for important news.

I hope you will also hear from others here who have been through all this before and that they will be along soon to share their story with you.

Keeping everything crossed for you that everything turns out fine.

    Best wishes,
