Trusting an ultrasound

I am currently having lots of symptoms and my Gp is leaning towards a problem with my ovaries. I've had bloods, CXR and she's referred me for an ultrasound. I am very big and lots of fat around my abdominal area. I am sceptical that it will see what it needs to and wondered if a CT or MRI would be better. I do have access to some private medical tests but unsure if Im just being overly anxious. Can ultrasounds scan larger ladies properly, anyone previous experience of this or things being missed.

  • I had ultrasound scans they were abdominal and trans vaginal so they had an internal view. They told me during the scan that the complex ovarian cysts were still there and had not got any smaller or changed. l had a MRI and CT scan bloods were repeated
They were removed soon after with lots of adhesions, my left sided pain has now improved although it was a bigger operation than expected and has taken a while to settle down.
take care l hope you have your results soon and know what's happening
