Awaiting Endometrial Biopsy Results

Hi,

I had a biopsy the other day. The Dr said they biopsied a "fluffy" area. My DCU discharge notes say "polypoidal appearence of endometrial cavity,"

I was sent for a Hysteroscopy, after seeing thickening of womb lining on my ultradound.
I have been bleeding between periods, sometimes having 2x periods a month. Also when I pass a stool.

Really scared, I had cervical cancer back in 2015 at the age of 33 staged at C1 a1.

Does anyone know what "fluffy" could mean?

I presume polypoidal means (polyp-like?)

....driving myself crazy on google x

  • Hi, Its so hard not to ask dr google but it really doesn't help! I have done it too so totally understand. My consultant at biospy also said 'fluffy', ( same one?!) but i don't think it means something sinister, it could mean polyps . Google nor I can diagnose so try to put your mind to rest until you hear the actual real results . I heard back in 2 days, so fingers crossed you hear soon. I send my best wishes and virtual hugs xxx

  • Hi Pam,
Thank you for replying. The fluffy description really only played on my mind a couple of days later.

I think because I had cervical cancer previously, its just bringing all that emotion back up again. I naively didn't  think I would be back awaiting biopsy results again.

  • I did exactly the same as you and googled '  fluffy', its a funny choice of word. I do know how worried you are, especially as you had cancer before. Anytime you have a wobble or feel alone with your thoughts come back here and I will have your back. Let us know how you get on.

My surgery is Monday, caught very early so Hysterectomy and thats it ( pending pathology) . Remember we all get anxious and so far I can 100% promise you a few things I have come to realise:

    -Google is a ***, don't go there!

-Everyone I have met/talked to from the NHS is amazingly kind.

-The waiting is much worse than knowing what you are dealing with.

-We women are much stronger than we think, and when we are not, others will hold us up.

Now, Dr Pamjam sends you prescription for a bath, pjs before its dark, your favourite music, wine or hot choc, a movie and a cuddle with the kids/significant other/cat/dog or teddy bear - x

  • Thank you Pam I really appreciate your reply x
Sending you so much love for Monday Yove got this!

It is definitely a wobble day and I think PJ's, red wine and a cuddle from my 2 year old is definitely the medication needed.

Thank you for replying you really have heloed ease my worrying x

  • Hi Kelliep, Was just thinking of you and wondered how you are doing? xxx

  • Hi PamJam,

I have been thinking of you too. I tried to send you a good luck message on Monday but because we are not friends on here it wouldn't let me (still getting to grips with this forum ).

I hope everything went well, how are you feeling?

I had a text on Weds to say I have an appointment with the consultant that did my surgery on the .8th September. Took me s bit by suprise as Dr said after I woke from GA that I would get a phone consultation for results, so I guess wait and see. The 8th will be exactly 3 weejs since the endometrial biopsy was done.

I do hope you are feeling OK and resting x

  • Hey Kellie,

I noticed you said you tried to send PamJam a good luck message earlier this week but weren't able to because you haven't added each other as friends on the forum yet.

If you would like to do this, then I hope this handy guide will help but if you have any problems, just give me a shout and we'll find another way to connect you

    Kind regards,
