Waiting time

Hello all,

A worried lady here ️

I've had a pelvic and transv scan on Wednesday and decided to call my GP today (Friday) to check if they got the results. I've been told that they can book me in for a call from my GP in two weeks. Does this means that it is nothing urgent or they gave up already and though that it won't make a difference anyway?

I have looked at possible symptoms of ovarian cyst, cancer and endometriosis and it doesn't help as they're all similar.

I am wondering if anyone had to wait at least two weeks for a call with the results and heard bad news?

I've got another two weeks of sleepless nights ahead of me and thought I may reach out and share experiences.

Love to all ️

  • Hi Barbara,

Normally after a scan it has to be formally reported on and with the back log at the moment things are taking a little longer. in the past and only in April I was told it would be 2 weeks before any results available but also told if noth heard after that time to chase it up. so perhaps your Dr by giving you an appointment for two weeks time means that they will probably have the report back. You could always call the surgery the week of the appointment to check if the report is back (they won't be able to tell you the results, your Dr will do that). If it's not back maybe the surgery could chase the results. I have actually call radiology before to ask the time frame for what seemed a very long time on an MRI report.

Hoping that all is well. I went through the same scan as you in 2020 on fast track and thanfully all clear.xxx

  • I had the same scans to check and see if ovarian cysts were growing, the radiologist told me that they were still there and they had not changed. My surgeon rang 2/3 weeks later to list me for my op although lots of adhesions and pain the multiple biopsies were benign.
I hope you have a similar outcome and get your results soon.
    take care

    Susie
