Swollen lymph nodes clear CBC

My daughter (6) pointed out a lump in her neck July 16th but I found out after that it had been there it a few weeks before i just wasnt aware of it. I took her to see the gp the following week who said it was her lymph nodes that are swollen and said to come back in 2 weeks if it didn't go down. We went back a week later as another lymph node swelled and she really wasn't her usual perky self and she had a Complete blood count done last monday. I rang the gp for the results on Wednesday and the receptionist said they were clear. Gp didn't leave a note about what to do next so she booked an appt for Monday just to discuss what to do next as I wasn't sure what we doing.

She's not been ill or had any sort of infection to explain the swelling. The 2nd lump is now as big as the first one.

Am I right in thinking though, that because her blood work was clear,  it's highly probable its nothing to worry about? I'm not sure if I should be concerned or not!

Thanks

  • Hello Lauralolly89 and a big welcome to Cancer Chat,

You did well to have this lump checked properly by your GP and it's good that they are being thorough and are looking into this properly. It's great that your results were clear - that is definitely good news. You will find out on Monday what your GP recommends and hopefully you will get a clearer idea of what it might be.

I know it is really hard but try not to worry too much or anticipate what it might be. The best thing to do to avoid thinking too much about this is to keep busy and distracted if you can and avoid looking things up online. I can imagine it is hard for you to do this at the moment but it will help you feel a little less anxious.

I hope you will also hear from others here who have been through all this before and that they will be along soon to share their story with you.

Keeping everything crossed for you that everything turns out fine for your daughter.

    Best wishes,
