Radiology won't scan a lump

Hi,

I have been referred for an ultra-sound for a lump in my arm. The initial GP I saw forgot to complete the referral so when I enquired at my GP surgery (after approx 5 weeks) they realised it hadn't been done. The original GP was on hols so she couldn't be requested to then write a referral.  I saw a different GP as she wanted to feel the lump herself before making the referral and then she completed an urgent referral for an Ultra sound scan. This was just over a week ago.

I've just had a tel call from the GP as the Radiolgy dept have refused to do the scan. The GP said that radiology cited that the lump was too small. It's about the size of a pea/sweetcorn kernel.

The GP said there isn't much they can do and Radiology do refuse to scan sometimes. If I want a scan I now need to pay privately.

An ultra sound scan is £245 and an MRI is £315 and I don't have that readily available.

Any advice please? Should I take it up with my GP again, or someone else, or just wait ands see if the lump gets bigger? I don't know what to do now.
