Doctor felt lump but i cant

Hi,

So for ages (at least a year) I have had a itchy rash with big red scabs. I have been backwards and forwards from the doctors, given different creams and advice.

Went back to the doctors yesterday as my chest rash has flared up again and doctor wanted to do a breast exam to rule anything out, he was a trainee so got his supervisor. They both think they can feel a lump in my right breast so have sent me to get checked at the hospital on Saturday. I dont feel ANYTHING. I'm not worried about the lump as i dont think its there, but i feel awful and a bit embarrassed taking up a really important much needed appointment for what I feel isn't needed.

    Hello Yellowtv and a big welcome to Cancer Chat, 

    You did well to go back to the doctor's after your chest rash flared up again and it's good that they were thorough and examined you properly. I think that even though you cannot feel this lump yourself, the fact that both the doctor and the trainee felt it in your right breast is a good reason to go and get this checked at the hospital. So I wouldn't feel bad about taking this appointment even if it was to just give you peace of mind. The fact that they referred you to get it checked proves that it is best to have this looked at so that you know once and for all whether there is something there or not. 

    I hope that your appointment goes well on Saturday and that it all turns out to be nothing to worry about. Hopefully you will hear from other forum members who have been through this before and they will come and share their experience with you.
