Hello all,
I've been doing the dreaded deed and googling my symptoms ever since I first noticed so of course I've gotten myself all worked up :(
I'm 25, and have 2 children my youngest 2yo who i breastfed until 1yo. About 4 months ago I noticed a small indent in my right breast when arms raised. It looked like someone had stuck their finger into it and the dent stayed. I phoned my GP the next morning and got seen the same day! She had a good feel and checked both breasts and armpits, could see the dent, but said everything feels good so its 'probably one of those things that happens' and wasn't concerned because of my age, just keep an eye on it and come back if it changes.
Last week caught sight in the mirror that the dent has changed what I feel quite significantly, its larger and now goes further inwards. Phoned the GP again same day and she called back for a telephone consultation. Told me again to not be concerned at my age but I asked to please be seen in person.. got an appointment a couple of days later.
Checked again, and told the same that because of my age I shouldn't get myself worried. Not concerned and won't refer to breast clinic. Its 'probably' where fatty tissue has moved.
Now I've been seen twice but I still feel scared and dismissed because of my age.. should I have been reffered or do I put my faith in my doctor that she isn't concerned so I shouldn't be either??
Sorry its so long. Thank you.x
