Waiting to see consultant for results

Hi everyone!

I've been reading around the forum for a week and wanted to share my story. This forum has really helped me realise I'm not alone and that I can reach out for support, something I'm not great at doing.

I found a largish lump in March and assumed it was possibly something to do with perimenopause. I'm 44 and noticing some changes.

Finally got round to seeing Nurse at GP's end July. Put on 2 week pathway. (Had Melanoma in 2016 so not phased as such by this.)

Very unhelpful ( to me!) letter to GP had following info on: Mammogram found 61mm parenchymal distortion and U/S found 62mm mass with microcalcification. Had biopsy of mass and lymph node. Plus the U codes were 5&4. ( Have since decifered what it all might mean.)

Was told that day that I would be back to see the Consultant and they would "sort me out..." Letter to GP confirmed I would be back to Consultant to discuss about a further management plan.

Seeing Consultant next Monday 22nd as am camping with my hubby and 5yo this week.

Cancer hasn't been mentioned or has it if you read between the lines??

Is it possible that the mass could still be benign but as its largish they just want to take it out anyway?!

I know it's so hard to tell without the biopsy results.

I'm a bit bewildered at the moment. I've already had a plethora of serious physical issues over the years and am left with chronic conditions that affect mobility and pain levels.

Anyone else had similar reporting on their mass/lump?

Anyone else already with chronic conditions then dealing with further "stuff"!?

Take care everyone.

Best wishes,

NatbytheSea xx
