Long wait for biopsy result

Hi,

I have a strange area on my arm just above my elbow. It's been there a while and just looked like skin damage but it developed a dark rim around it, it's kind of mishappen heart shaped. So off I trot to the GP who took a biopsy of it.

It's now 25 days and I haven't received the results, does this seem too long to wait?

I did call the GPs surgery about a week ago and the receptionist checked both surgery and hospital website but apparently (now I'm not completely clear about this) the GP didn't use the right system to send it off so it won't appear on the computer systems and will be returned by post?

Any thoughts would be welcome

    Don't be embarrassed to call the surgery they are able to look things up for us, we would do it ourselves if we could. I had a blood test on Wednesday and the staff including the nurses seemed to have changed. Hopefully for the better. 
    Some biopsies take a longer time due to the lab they have used and the volume they have through them, l waited 5 weeks for my biopsies following surgery.

    Take care l hope the results are good
