Repeat ultrasound and possible new lump

Hi all,

Ive had a pea sized lump in my right underarm since the beginning of June. The GP initially said it was a reactive lymph node, but it did not change size at all, so after another 2 weeks I went back to the GP who referred me for an urgent ultrasound. I had the ultrasound on 30th July, but they lump was too deep so couldnt be seen properly. The Dr said he would refer me for an MRI. However, 5 days later the same Dr called and left me a message to say to book in for another ultrasound, its been 1.5 weeks and still no appointment. I can now feel another solid mass under my right collarbone, very close to my breast bone. I am not sure if its a lump or just a prominent tendon. Its not a regular shape at all, quite long but not as wide. Should I get this check out? I am becoming a hypochondriac searching my body for anything abnormal. It's horrible just waiting, but no one seems to be treating me with any type of urgency.

  • Hi mkam, I'm sorry you feel your needs are not being addressed. I totally understand the anxiety and imagining that so many things might be wrong. I can't help with advice about the delay but just wanted to reach out and hope it helps a little to know you're not alone. I'm going through much the same thing, having been diagnosed with grade 3 invasive BC but i have to wait for more biopsies and an MRI to check the spread. The waiting and fear of the unknown are just awful. Take care and I hope you hear something soon. Do let us know xx
