Increased lymphocytes and worried

I have been battling increased lymphocytes for nearly 2 years and no haematology department will see me. They have been elevated since December 2020 and now I have multiple swollen lymph nodes in my neck, groin and under my arm. My GP has tried twice now to get haematology to see me but they refuse. I am so worried it's some form of cancer and now I have resorted to having to pay privately to see a consultant to get some answers. Has anyone else experienced something similar?

I'm sorry to hear that you've had some ongoing health problems recently and that your GP hasn't been able to refer you to the local haematology department. It's understandable that you're feeling concerned.

What reasons has the hospital given the GP for not accepting your referral? Does your GP feel that this is an issue that needs to be escalated in order for you to be seen by a specialist? It may be that you want to consider pursuing this issue with the hospital PALS team. They provide a point of contact for patients, their families, and their carers and to help resolve concerns or problems when you're using the NHS.

I hope that you have some news and reassurance soon from your upcoming privately arranged appointment. Do let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,
