Would you be reassured? CT results for lymphnodes

Im a really bad worrier, big over thinker and suffer with health anxiety.

Beginning of may i found a lump on my neck & groin. Docs did bloods (all ok) rang me 2 weeks later to check if they was still there and then referred me to hematology.

hematology did a lot of blood tests (i think they tested for 18 different things in total) anyway they was all ok, ive no other symptoms but they did a CT scan as they gave me 3 options (1. Do nothing and go back in 6 months, 2. CT scan 3. Ultrasound) ive had a call today and she started off by saying "Good news, CT looks fine, there is a node in your neck and armpit but they look normal and are less than 1cm)

she said she will keep me on her books and will see me for a follow up in 12 months but also just incase anything changes she can see me earlier rather than go through the GP process again.

She sounded confident everything was ok due to them being less than 1cm and me having no other symptoms.

also nothing showed on groin so she said this was probably not a node

I know this may sound stupid and the hematology consultant will see this stuff everyday so i guess she would act if she thought anything was serious, but my question is would you feel reassured by this?

  • Hello JEShaz and welcome to the forum.

It's great to hear you've received good results and feedback from the consultant although I'm sorry you're still worried.

The consultant would have told you if there was anything of concern so do try and be reassured by what you've been told. I know this is easier said than done, especially when you're feeling anxious and have doubts playing on your mind, but hopefully receiving some support from our members and hearing about their experiences will help put your mind at ease.

You're welcome to speak with our nurses about this on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m but as your GP has access to your medical records and results, it would be best to talk through things more thoroughly with them.

    Kind regards,
