hard firm lump in breast

hi all!

 

about a week ago was laying in bed and just got the random urge to check my breasts, mainly because a couple months ago i had extreme pain and tenderness in them. anyways whilst checking i found a rather large, hard firm lump that is fixed, it doesn't move around when i press on it! 

 

tried making a GP appointment but have to wait yet another week for a face to face one! i know it's probably nothing to worry about but i lost my mother and my nan in the last 2 almost 3 years to cancer and obviously when you find a lump your mind can't help but jump to the worst case scenario! 

was thinking about maybe trying the walk-in centre? not sure if it's the best idea but if it gets me seen to sooner i'd rather that than wait a week!

    Hi Chloe, same thing happened to me. I had to try to get through to my surgery at 8.30am. They told me there were no appointments left and I'd have to try again next day. I called 111 and told them I'd found a lump in my breast. They arranged for my GP to call me that afternoon, which she did, and she asked me to come in that evening. She examined me and sent off a referral straightaway. Next day I got a call from the breast unit at my local hospital and got an appointment for two weeks later. I've had all the tests and am waiting for results. You might try the 111 route? I wish you well. Let us know how you get on and if you need to offload, just drop another line here. The anxiety can be so overwhelming.
