So I've been for my initial consultation today at the gynaecology oncology department.
Ultrasound scans showed a 17mm thickening of the womb lining (post 3 days finishing my cycle) & a baby fibroid
I've had lots of symptoms relating to my monthly cycles, mainly being excruciatingly painful ~ but no intermittent bleeding present
The nurse performed a biopsy at the appointment, due to me having a very tilted womb and cervix made the procedure a little tricky. I can't say it didn't hurt, it did and made me cry.. I don't think the position of my womb helped & the lack of pain relief! I can't understand why the medical profession think such procedures do not need numbing or something... I'm no wuss either, 3 cesecs under my belt etc... The pain was however quick and I left with cramping and bleeding (not overly significant)
Currently sat at home, feet up, cocodamol and feel a little off but OK!
Now for the waiting game!
Best of luck to anyone else going through this, the wait for everything has been very quick, the service impeccable to be fair ~ thank god for our NHS service ️
