Endometrial biopsies

Hi 2 weeks ago I had a very large uterine polyp removed that was taking up the whole uterine cavity . Also had quite a lot of biopsies taken from the endometrial lining as they was looking at possible cancer.

Before I had the polyp removed the pain was unbearable. Pressure and heaviness to the point it hurt to walk properly. However I am still getting the same discomfort particularly when I need to open my bowels, plus I am weeing a lot at night too. Has anyone else had the same symptoms and did you get good or bad results. I hate the waiting game for results

  • Welcome to Cancer Chat, Madammebutterfly69.

I'm sorry to hear you are still somewhat uncomfortable after removing this large uterine polyp and that you needed to have several biopsies taken from your endometrial lining.

While looking for other members who reported a similar situation I found that [@Bella17]‍ posted a few days ago about feeling poorly and is also waiting for her results so I thought it might be helpful for you both to have a chat?

Also, please know that our team of nurses are available at this phone number 0808 800 4040 Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m. if you feel like asking them some questions.

I hope all goes well for you, Madammebutterfly69, and that once your results come back they show nothing sinister.

    With best wishes,

    Renata, Cancer Chat Moderator

  • Hey hunni

I've considerably relaxed since my biopsy, I feel for me, knowing I was going to have this done was the worst part! I do not have pols but a fibroid and endo thickening of 17mm,so this is now being investigated for endo cancer.

I do have excruciating periods and feeling of heaviness also and constantly needing the toilet. The waiting game I can honestly say, for me has got easier... I'm kind of going about my day as usual and taking pain relief when needed. I sincerely hope your symptoms get better and you get a positive outcome from your tests.

I think my brain has done to much over thinking now and I'm fed up of reading, basically the wrong thing to do until I have concrete answers, to which, I'll deal with what ever next when it arrives I guess!

Wishing you all the best hunni x ♥️

  • Hi. I'm more relaxed knowing its nothing cancerous but very concerned as to why I'm still in so much discomfort and pain. It's definitely worse when I need the loo. I'm confused as to whether it's bowel related or definitely something inside my pelvis. Spoke to the consultants secretary again today and she said he's wrote the letter so hopefully I'll hear this week what or if anything was found apart from the polyp.  One minute I'm being told theres cysts around the polyp and since the surgery I've heard nothing from the consultant. Waiting is awful when you don't know what to do next. Thanks for getting back to me. Good luck to you with everyone. Its awful being a woman at times. xx

  • Thank you so much. So helpful to talk to other women going through the same thing xx
