Breast lump visible ten days after biopsies

Hi

feeling very anxious waiting for biopsy results although copy of letter to GP says imaging indicates its malignant (M5/U5). I found a lump four weeks ago which is about 4cm, I have thickening of lymph node and US detected another suspicious area. All have been biopsied. I'm feeling twinges and slight pains in all sorts of places and try as I might I can't help thinking the cancer has spread.

tonight I noticed that the lump is bulging and visible on the surface of my breast. My appt to get the biopsy result should have been this Tuesday but I got a letter to say it's been put back a week to 9 August. No explanation. Another week of worry and fear.

Can anyone tell me if the bulging is normal swelling after a biopsy, even 10 days after? Or is it something I should get checked out immediately? I'm in my early 60s.

thanks.

  • You're as well just waiting for your app as tough as it may seem. Unless you think it may be infected, a gp won't be able to rush anything you aren't already gonna get at hospital.

My wife had a long term cough (i had been nagging her for months to go get it seen to before we knew she had BC) and we mentioned this to the cancer nurse at the time on the day of diagnosis, and she said not to go to the gp as she'd be getting scans  as part of her diagnosis staging and that they'd be looking at her lungs anyway. Turned out to be nothing.

As for the swelling. I can't recall if she got any as that particular time was all a blur.

  • Hi, i had a biopsy over 2.5 weeks ago on my breast. It was really painful and swollen for about 2 weeks. I get my results this coming friday.
