Liver cancer ?

It's heartbreaking to write this. In June randomly I got severe pain in my right side it lasted hours & was so bad I couldn't walk or even pee etc went to a&e & they thought it was my appendix bursting ..... They also thought it was my ovaries they immediately wanted to do surgery & me being stupid I said no not until I get a CT scan .... Got the scan in less then an hour and they said I did indeed have a 6.5cm cyst in my ovary ...... And I also have a 1.5 lesion on my liver

Went to a&e again with pain again and was kept in got a ultrasound on my liver and the lady doing it went quiet and said I'm gonna book you an MRI with contrast for a 2ww referral and get a gastro team. I still haven't had the 2ww scan yet as it was recent and I'm terrified it's cancer on my outpatient letter it says gastro follow up with inpatient emergency follow up wait for MRI results

If it wasn't cancer why do they wanna do the MRI follow up as an inpatient , my crp was high and it's not looking good that if the MRI was gonna show nothing why say inpatient follow up

I'm only 30 years old and I'm terrified in three days it looks like im gonna be told I have cancer my heart's breaking

  • Hi Emma and welcome to the forum.

I'm sorry to read what's going on but if you can, try to stay calm and not think the worst until you know more. Always easier said than done I know, but I hope it helps to know that many of our members have been in similar situations so you are not alone and hopefully you will receive some support and advice from the community soon.

Waiting for tests and results is always tough but I hope some of the tips given in this article will help. You're also very welcome to talk things through with one of our nurses on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m. They're very supportive, and friendly, and will do all they can to answer your questions and put your mind at ease.

We're all thinking of you Emma and will have our fingers crossed for good news.

    All the best,

  • Hi emma,

I have just come throiugh a very similar situation - they found a 9cm mass in my liver and put me on the 2ww pathway, Ive just jad the news that the tumour is benign - its called focal nodular hyperplasia, but to get to that diagnosis took 4 x bloods, an ultrasound, 2 x CT, 2x MRI and then a liver biopsy because the scans didnt give the team the information they needed. Its so hard waiting, it took from March unitl now for me to actually get a diagnosis, but most people flagged under 2ww don't get a cancer diagnosis.
