Hi all, I'm hoping for some reassurance and hope I'm posting this in the right place, so sorry if not.
I am 31 and had my first child 2 years ago, for the past 18 months I've had extremely heavy periods (very painful and lots of constant lower back pain) and spotting after sex and in between periods whcih has gradually got worse.
last month I bled for 19 days. I've been to the doctors twice now, once 8 months ago and again today. I had an internal ultrasound (all clear), blood tests (clear), and two internal examinations as well as my smear 8 months ago - HPV negative.
Both doctors saw a large ectropion but I'm worried as I just feel so rubbish all the time (tired, no energy, lower back pain, constant bleeding, headaches) and they won't refer me for anything more. The doctor today said it was 100% an ectropion, she literally promised me there was no way it could be anything else.
I've done quite possibly the worst thing and googled! Which has scared me a little. I'm worried as there are cases of cervical cancer while being HPV negative (I only had the HPV smear test as they've stopped offering the other one where I live). The only thing they'll offer is referall for treatment of the extropion which could take 7-9 months and we were hoping to try for another baby soon.
sorry, I've waffled a bit. Would greatly appreciate any reassurance, stories, advice etc. the doctor did literally promise me it's nothing else but I just can't shake the feeling (although that could be health anxiety talking!) xx
