Narrow stools, anxiety cancer

Hi I'm 25 years old (male)

I had 4 blood tests (all normal)

A FIT kit (Normal reading)

3 normal rectal exams

Calprotectin levels 190

I'm posting again to see if anyone else has had narrow stools and it turns out to be something other than cancer. I previously had a lot of pain in my Gooch area (which disappeared but sometimes comes back)

I have alot of anxiety at the moment hoping somebody in this forum might be able to share their experiences.

Thanks

  • From what I have read, narrow stools on their own are very, very rarely cancer. And it would be very unusual to get a normal FIT reading with bowel cancer - I've read that the odds of bowel cancer with a normal FIT are like 1% or something. You would also be young for bowel cancer, though of course, it's not impossible to get it in your 20s, but to get it in your 20s and have a normal FIT would be very unusual and especially if your only symptom is narrow stools. As far as I can see, there seems to be debate as to whether they should even be considered a cancer symptom.

  • You are very kind, thank you for taking the time to help a person in need of assurance.

I hope its just me over thinking based on my age and other test results hoping that works in my favour.
