I have a pea sized palpable hard lump discovered under right nipple and the skin draws in over it if I raise my arm. An ultrasound has been booked for next week. Anyone one else had this issue? Thanks

I have roughly the same thing and have the breast clinic on Monday. I went to the docs 2 weeks ago and got a referral but I was going on holiday for a week, while away the application came in for the week I was away but my doc did mention this on my referral and it got changed to Monday. Good luck with your ultrasound and I will let you know how I get on x
Hi Jaimie,
what happened? I have a pea sized lump that you can see above my left nipple. I'm being seen at the breast clinic next week but I'm worried sick.
I hope you're okay.
Hi, nothing has happened.
I am fine, thank you
Not many people seem to post about "lumps" like this.
I am not worried sick as that changes nothing.I've had an ultrasound as I won't go near a mammogram (for obvious reasons.)
Now, I'm moving onto an ultrasound guided biopsy, later this week to identify malignant or not and the type.
The lesion is near the surface so likely to be in a milk duct.
Hello,
Thank your for replying.
Mine is very near the surface too, if it wasn't for the texture it would look like a large pimple.
I hope the diagnostic tests all go well & you're in the clear.
can I ask, why didn't they do the biopsy when you had the ultrasound? I was told they'll do all the diagnostic tests in one day, is that incorrect?
thank you so much for replying.
Hi Annabelle
I found a lump under the skin but near the surface and had an ultrasound to scan both breasts.
I do not have mammograms due to the high amount of radiation they emit, so ultrasound first.
The radiologist sent the report back to the doctor saying they had found two lesions and recommended biopsies.
The doctor referred me back for the biopsies to be ultrasound guided.
I had them today. They used local to nerve block but the spring loaded biopsy needles are still very sore as punch back the tissue samples and they do several passes and my breast looked full and perky due to all the swelling.
Sadly. it won't stay that way. ;0(
Now I wait 3 -5 days for the path report, then I'll review from there.
Please let me know how you get on.
Best regards
Jamie
Hi lovely,
just wondering how your results are? I've just found a pea sized lump myself and waiting to get initial appointments. Hope you're well x
Hi
Thank you for asking.I'm good thanks.
It is ICL grade 1 and can be removed under local anaesthetic as it is very near the surface.
How about you?
I'm sorry it's not the best news may I ask the texture of your lump? Was it smooth or not?
I've got an appointment with docs hoping they refer me, I feel silly as it's such a small lump right under the surface
Hi there
It felt fairly smooth to me but I really could not tell and when they did the sonagram it was not.
It didnt move and that rang alarm bells. The ones that are not serious generally feel rubbery and you can generally move them, although this is not always the case.
Yours is very near the surface so should be easy for an ultrasound to pick up.
A GP can only make referrals to specialists as they are not qualifified to do anything other than confirm you have a lump.
Ultrasound was absolutely perfect for this and it picked up another I had not been aware of.
Now I have my ultrasound results and the results back from the path lab I know exactly what I am dealing with and am expecting lumpectomies on both.
Both are ILC, slow growing and I am not in a hurry to go into a hospital at the moment.
There are too many restrictions, so I'll wait a while.
Please let me know how you get on with yours.
Regards
Jamie
