I can't believe today is a week since I got referred on the 2 week pathway. If this week has gone fast, I hope next week does aswell.I haven't had a call or a letter so feeling in limbo. My GP asked to give a stool sample so I gave that on Monday and hoping to find out the result soon.
No matter how hard I try to think about other things, I keep thinking about my symtoms and the tests I will have. I've been staying off google and trying to stay on this website, Bowel Cancer UK and Teenage Cancer Trust. Food is a big comfort, I guess it's good I've still got my appetite as I've dropped to 6 stones. I also have 4 college deadlines this week which have already been extended to the longest possible time for me (oops) so I guess I should focus on those as distractions in the meantime.
I'm hoping to be contacted soon. My GP did say if I don't hear from them by the end of the 2 weeks, to call the GP surgery as soon as possible. So I'm glad I know I'm going to be seen soon. I'm so organised about my health, I've already written down what I will say if I have to call them. I've also written down all my symptoms, when they started, family history etc if the specialist calls. I wish I was this organised for other things.
I've been told by my GP that the test I will be having will involve a camera so I'm guessing it's a colonoscopy. My only worries are that something might be missed (so I hope they look thoroughly) and my low pain tolerance. I will definitely ask for the maximum amount of sedation/ pain relief/ whatever will stop me from being in pain.
I'm basically answering my own questions and giving myself advice. But if any of you have advice for what to do in the meantime, I will appreciate that.
