Mole on breast

Hi

Just been to GP and mentioned a mole which I think looks suspicious. It's recently changed shape slightly. I previously asked about this mole as I thought it was bigger since I've had children and breastfed, with doctor previously being dismissive of it (I didn't know whether it was bigger just because my breasts had stretched through pregnancy etc).
GP had a look at it today and is sending me to dermatology clinic but I'm just wondering a) how concerned I should be and b) whether this could be a sign of skin or breast cancer due to its location c) whether it'd be worth going private if speed is needed if could be breast cancer. It's worth noting I'm a tad hypervigilant about breast cancer as my mum has had 2 hormone breast cancers and is now end of life with triple negative breast cancer.

Thanks!

  • Hiya,

Sorry I can't really answer your questions but just wanted to say you're not alone. I've been to GP today, also with a mole on my breast which has changed. He referred me to get it removed as it looks suspicious. However, I actually was pregnant and sadly miscarried very recently. The GP said that sometimes the hormones in pregnancy can cause changes in moles, but he obviously wasn't willing to bet that's all it was so I am to have it removed anyway.

I'm also not sure how concerned I should be and if I'm over thinking everything.

Sorry you're going through a stressful time and wish you well!
