Help, waiting for smear appt but having symptoms. Stressed.

Hi all, just after some help.

i had my smear test and I'm waiting for a app for the hospital due to abnormal cells. There really far behind though and only just doing Februarys referrals, mine wasn't sent to them till may.

im really stressing myself though as I've started bleeding on and off which is like a watery blood and I don't have periods I haven't for years. Also really bad lower back pain which is nearly putting my in tears. Any advice would be great .

  • Welcome to the forum Cer although I'm sorry to hear the hospital you're due to have your cervcial screening at is still working through a rather large backlog of referrals.

    If you have noticed new symptoms occurring since your referral do be sure to let your GP know as they may be able to speed up your referral for you.

    I know this must be scary but our community are here for you and will hopefully be along soon to offer you their support and advice.

    Hi, sorry to hear your stressed about this but I am also in a similar situation  

    I went to the doctors because I convinced myself I had endometriosis with the symptoms mainly irregular periods ( I am on the pill with no break due to the extend of my periods migraines when I have them) and extreme lower back pain(feeling as if I was coming on my period). I had not thought it could be anything else, the doctors did a examine and they have found lesions on the neck of my womb and yellow around my cervix, I had swaps and blood test done, all the tests came back normal I have now been referred to the hospital under urgent my appointment is Saturday. Iam so worried now it's the summer holidays I need to try and mentally deal with the waiting and what ifs while trying to keep 2 young children entertained.  
     

    I had my smear test done 2 years ago 2020 and all normal, the doctor said a lot can change in 2 years, now Iam worried sick
