Cervical cancer or ectropion? Experiences please

Hi all, new here.

I'll try to keep it brief but I'm absolutely terrified I have cervical cancer.

Symptoms started off about 4 months ago the odd stream of blood after sex and between periods. Then about 2 months ago bleeding after sex, I got diagnosed with thrush and had a course of pessaries to get rid. I thought problem was solved until about a week later I started bleeding after sex again, went back go GP who referred me for colposcopy and pelvic ultrasound (as I had some pain while she was examining me). She thinks it's ectropion and sex is causing it to get irritated and bleed. Now this past week I'm just constantly bleeding. It's not a period or period like at all. Nor is it heavy, it's just constant when I wipe. It's just constant bloody discharge of all sorts of weird and wonderful consistencies and varying from red to pinkto yellowish to brown.

My ultrasound appointment is in 2 weeks. My colposcopy I can't even book because there are no appointments available and apparently 9/10 people are seen within 49 WEEKS!

i am having other issues as well which I don't know if they are related: Dizzy spells, dull tummy ache like a constant niggling period pain, getting full quickly and feeling bloated. This could all be anxiety though I'm sure.

does anyone have any experience of cervical ectropion? Or what was believed to be cervical ectropion but turned out to be cancer?

  • Hi

I don't have an answer sorry but I'm having the exact same! Just constant clear discharge streaked with blood or with tiny specks of blood in when I wipe!

im on day five of it and get anxiety just going for a wee now!

originally I had two days of this totally randomly ( not after sex) and it was pink, really blood streaked discharge. Nothing for a month, then again one day after sex  and now a month after that, this!

GP looked and said it's an ectropion even though I'm not on the pill and has referred me to gynae, I asked for a colopscopy 2 week referral and they said no as it's not urgent!

the wait is awful isn't it but I'm sure where both fine and gp would have fastracked if they were really concerned
