My sister has cancer but doctors do not know where

19.2.22

My sister had a blod clot in her leg that travelled through a hole in her heart to her brain and subsequently had emergency surgery to remove it, she suffered a massive stroke and is still in hospital, after being to and fro several hospitals and  she was told she had cancer and then told she did not. Tests after tests, scans etc, we were told she has cancer but they do not know where it is as they can't find any tumours, she is constantly feeling and being sick, no appetitite, has pain all over, but the doctors do not know where it is, they have said because she is having clots while on blood thinning tablets and is feeling sick it is a sign of cancer, she is too weak to have any treatment because of this, and we have been told she will die soon, what can we do ?

  • Hello AB74D and welcome to the Cancer Chat community.

I'm very sorry to read what your sister has been through and that she doesn't have much time left.

I can't begin to imagine how difficult this must be for you all, especially as the cancer cannot be found, but our community are here for you and will hopefully be along soon to offer your their support and advice.

You could try getting a second opinion but if you'd like to discuss your options with one of our cancer nurses they'll be available on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

We're all thinking of you AB74D and sending our strength to you and your family at this very challenging time.

    Kind regards,

    Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator
