It sometimes seems that no matter what the results show many people still think they have cancer and advanced seems to be rather a self diagnosis.  What would it take to convince you otherwise?  Many cancers show no symptoms at all, no pain or ill health, my husband just had a cough, nothing else wrong so to be stage 4 when diagnosed was somewhat of a shock.  If you have health concerns the only person to consult is your GP again.  Good luck and I hope you manage to find out why you're having aches and pains.  Carol 

Thank you for your reply Carol and I am sorry to hear of your husbands diagnosis and hope he is doing well. 
the only thing that could reassure me would be an mri scan. However I know I won't get one without them thinking I need too. I also am sure the wait is a long time. It is for this reason that I asked for investigations in to what I thought could be the cause such as skin lesions but I have really wasted time. I hope that I am wrong I just can't seem to understand what the pain in my lower leg could be other than something pressing on the nerve as it's not a dvt. Just feel so stuck in limbo and I have a baby I just want to be healthy for :( 

I also work in healthcare myself so can understand the gp's reactions to an extent but I just don't feel listened to. Everything seems to be put down to anxiety however they never give a reassuring diagnosis. The lesions they just say don't look sinister and the pains can't be bone mets or I would not be able to walk which that is not always the case.

I know how you feel, after the birth of my second child I had terrible pains in my right leg and struggled to move around with a new baby.  But I was diagnosed with a trapped nerve and it took months to get it right, I even ended up in a steel corset which I wore for a whole year whilst looking afer two children and having a job so it's not always bad news, it could be something that is not sinister.  My husband died this January after five years of treatment but we are in our seventies and it was expected but thank you for for asking.  I hope you are sorted out soon.  Carol
