So I was referred to the breast clinic after finding 2 lumps in my armpit. One either side but totally different locations.
When my GP did an examination, she said the lumps were quite deep and she commented that my breast tissue felt very dense and asked me if it always felt this way. I didn't really know as in all honesty I've never religiously checked.
anyway, the lumps in the armpits have very suddenly begun getting smaller. Still there but definitely smaller and harder to find. They're painless and don't move. One is at the top of my armpit and the other at the bottom in line with my breast. I don't know whether I should call the GP to cancel the referral or still attend because of the comment about the dense tissue. She didn't explain what it meant but seemed more concerned over that than the lumps.
an ex once commented that my boobs felt lumpy once but I didn't think anything of it and I'm wondering if that's the same thing my GP felt?
should I cancel the referral or is the dense breast tissue a separate concern of it's own?
i'm 30 - my mum was diagnosed with breast cancer at 51 and died within 9 months. I was 18 at the time so don't know the ins and outs but she had a double mascetomy and lymph nodes removed. No other breast cancer history but I know my nans siblings have had various cancers but I don't know the type to know if I'm at risk for one of the cancer genes.
