Reassurance Post; slight raised CA125, Bloating and fatigue

I don't know if anyone has been in a similar situation but I'm going out of my mind with worry here!

To give some context, I was a very fit 31 yo till a few weeks ago. I was away on a trip and had stomach upset and sever bloating. I'd been a bit of a pig the days before so I pinned it down to that. On the way back I started to feel really sick, tired and small fever and just presumed stomach bug.

I was laid up on the sofa for a day or so just lethargic and couldn't really do anything else.

Over the coming days things didn't improve, I had no appetite, nausea still bloating and I went from 6am runs to lying in bed till 9am and still tired and really bad headaches.

I called the dr who confirms my white bloods were slightly low and my CA125 slightly raised (38). He said he'd order more tests but to come in and he'd  examine me. He decided to reorder my bloods and send me for an Urgent scan. This was just over a week ago.

Since then my bloating has been on and off, and although I can eat I don't find I have an appetite at all, I am NEVER hungry and I am getting full quicker then usual. I am picking lots however and weirdly would say I'm eating more then usual ( I normally would have one BIG meal a day but now I'm picking all day.) with that being said and no exercise I'm loosing weight !

one day I forced myself out of bed to try and do something at the gym. I took pre workout to boost my energy which had the equivalent to 4 espressos with taurine, managed a 15 minute job and went home to sleep for an hour! I am usually caffeine senstaive.

The worse part through is exhaustion. I've never felt this tired like I can't do anything. I'm struggling to work yet I have an office job working from home.

I chased my scan yesterday to be told to contact the hospital. They said the dr did note it as urgent but not under 2ww so I would be waiting for 6/7 weeks ! I've decided to go private and have a scan this Saturday.

Has anyone has anything similar to this before ? I'm just going out of my mind with worry which I don't think is helping anything.

Should I be pushing for more with my Dr?

  • With endometriosis, I had a CA125 of...I think 239?  It worried me, but a nurse I talked to said the highest number she'd seen in a patient with a benign cause was 900.  Also severe bloating.  I was worried too but it turned out to be benign.

Nausea and headache were my original indicators when I came down with COVID (later progressed to a sore throat and congestion, though), any chance you took a test for that?  That can also cause crazy lingering fatigue, especially with exertion.

At 31, the malignancies you're worrying about are possible but highly highly improbable.
