Swelling under ribs at right side

Hi - for the past few weeks my upper abdomen/waist under ribs has felt swollen/hard/tense, worse when sitting. It's uncomfortable and mildly painful. I'm worried it could be a sign of liver cancer, since I don't think its digestive, plus I am waiting for biopsy results for suspected skin cancer in the same area, so I'm worried it's related to that. However I don't have any of the risk factors of liver cancer - I'm 19 and I don't really drink, no family history - and I don't have any other liver-related symptoms. Does this seem worrying or am i just already worried because of my skin biopsy?

    I'm sorry to hear that you have been feeling a bit poorly in addition to the anxiety that waiting for the biopsy results is causing.

    It's difficult for us to say whether the symptoms you're experiencing are related or not to cancer, so your best bet in this case, if your symptoms don't go away is to make a phone call to your GP and see what they say.
