Breast lumps

I have found multiple breast lumps. They dont hurt and they are rock hard. I have them in both breast but went to the doctors last weekend for 2 lumps in the same breast and now ive found some in my other breast and in my armpits. Ive been referred for a one stop appointment. What does this mean? Im so scared due to family history of breast cancer. I dont know what to expect, i feel ill in myself but i dont really have discharge. I have nipple piercings and they have always been discharging but recently its been a lot more with some blood. I have little spots on my boobs also. I dont know if this even means anything.

Hope someone can help.

  • Hi!

Welcome to the lumpy boobs club! Basically one stop shop means they will do everything in one visit save you going back and forth for multiple tests. This usually includes a physical exam by a consultant, a mammogram and an ultrasound. Based on what they see, you may also have a biopsy too.

You would typically be seen within 2 weeks also but don't read into the fact that you may be seen much earlier or much later. I have been multiple times over the years and i have been seen as quickly as 2 days and as long as 3.5 weeks. Despite attending a number of times, it never gets any less scary. Its just normal to feel that way. Alot of breast lumps are benign (i think they say 8 or 9 out of 10). There is no reason why you can't be in that majority so think positive. It is ALWAYS best to get checked. My mum was diagnosed with breast cancer 4 years ago. She had a lumpectomy and radiotherapy and has been living her best life ever since!
