Feeling very jittery!

Just getting it off my chest as I can't keep it from all going around my head. After a recall on a regular mammogram,  and ultimately having a biopsy, and a 10 day wait for the good news all is ok . Just a fibrocysytic change, nothing to worry about. Within 3 hours of hearing I didn't have breast cancer the gp calls with pelvic scan results . My happy mood quickly vanished!

I had two very small PMB and feel almost constant nausea, with intermittent but daily bloating and pelvic ache, not dissimilar to a regular period pain. I feel so jittery I find it hard to believe people can't see me quiver! I didn't notice an over 2 stone weight loss over 10 months until recently, but that could be because i went vegetarian and because of my bloating I cut out most bread, so not really unexplained. I was over 12 stone so it didn't really show until now.

I had an ultrasound which showed an endometrial thickening of 11mm at 2 years post menopausal. In 8 days I have hysteroscopy and biopsy, I was offered a GA as I have a very tight cervix, I gratefully but nervously accepted.

Is a thicken endometrial lining always Endrometrial Hyperplasia, of whichever type? Could it be fibroids or something else? Just want it all to be over, and of course good news.

  • It's great to hear you got the all clear after your mammogram recall Pamjam although I'm sorry about what was found during your pelvic scan.

It's completely natural to feel a bit jittery and nervous about this but I hope writing everything down helped and you're feeling a bit calmer about your upcoming hysteroscopy.

Many of our members have contended with a thickened womb lining so you are not alone and hopefully you will receive some support and advice from them soon.

In the meantime, if you'd like to discuss your situation with one of our nurses, they're available on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

Fingers crossed everything will be o.k Pamjam.

    Kind regards,
