Swollen lymph node. Supraclavicular

Hello everyone, 

 

I've been reading these posts for months and was scared to comment.. 

 

in April I noticed my supraclavicular node on left side was swollen, I've had itchy skin for as long as I can remember but now it's keeping me up at night and is unbearable. 
 

i had bloods done which said iron deficiency anemia. 
 

had ultrasound on swollen lymph node and it came back 'satisfactory' with no action taken. 
 

It's now middle of July and lymph node is still swollen and very noticeable, making myself bleed from itching too. 
 

how do you tell a doctor you need a biopsy when they've said they're not worried? I've read so many peoples stories that say bloods and ultrasounds aren't good enough and biopsy is only way to be sure ?

    It's good to hear you've had this checked out and there were no concerns, although if you remain worried then the best thing to do is to speak to your GP again to try to get some peace of mind. If you'd rather not see the same doctor, you could alternatively ask for a second opinion.

    Do take care and try to ease off the scratching although I know this can be easier said than done.

    Hi Ben thank you for your reply. 
     

    I've been back to the doctor today and he has referred me to haematology for testing.

    Hi Samantha, 

     

    I've had iron defiency anaemia since I was 14! (23 now!) I haven't been taking my tablets for the last year or so and recently found a lump in the same place. It's rubbery, moveable and I'm worried sick. I also have itchy legs that are bothering me although I'm not sure if this is psychological as I'm worried! I've just been referred for an ultrasound to have my lump checked but it's a long wait!! Not heard anyone else on here mention anaemia too so please let me know how you get on! Hope everything goes well for you
