Hi,
So im highly expecting a tonsil cancer diagnosis due to the progression of my symptoms over the span of 11 weeks.
It had been a struggle to even get a single GP to acknowledge there was a serious problem, and I wasn't even able to get referred on a cancer pathway but luckily due to phoning up and being very distressed, and by a great turn of chance - someone elses cancellation, I'm going tomorrow to see an ENT specialist.
I just wondered what to expect as I have no idea. What should I expect about tests, how long will things take, how long do test results take to come back, how quickly will I get to speak to someone the initial appointment, etc? Any info would be great, and any tips on how to get things moving prompty (like biopsy results, or ensure I even get a biopsy done) as I am very worried that my sypmtoms recently show progression and obviously would like to start treatment as soon as possible if diagnosed. Thanks for any info or tips anyone can give.
For context - I'm 32, male, and I've been waiting 11 weeks after first reporting spitting up blood, and was nearly left waiting 38 weeks due to complete incompetence of my local GP practice, now the amounts of blood I spit up are significant, come every 1-2 hours, I have severe earache (have had the entire time), severe tinnitus, severe headache, fatigue, severe neck pain, night sweats and swollen lymph nodes on same side as ear pain as well as being the same side that I believe my tonsil is bleeding from (still no gp gave a cancer referral and i'd told to wait 38 weeks to see a specialist)... All of these symptoms have gone from either minor or non-existent (like night sweats), to severe in the last 5-7 days so I want to be sure I can move things along as quickly as possible, but my experience so far has petrified me thinking that things will move incredible slowly.
