Raised CA125 and pelvic mass

Hi everyone.

After some advice/reassurance really!

I recently had some hospital investigations due to deranged liver function and severe iron deficiency anemia. During an ultrasound scan, a 5.5cm "heterogeneous mass" was found in the "right adnexa" which I understand to be the ovary/fallopian tube area.

I had a subsequent CA125 blood test which has come back at 64. My case is set to be referred to the gynaecology MDT next week to decide whether I will have an MRI of the pelvis in addition to a planned transvaginal scan in 6 weeks time.

I'm 30 years old.

Just wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience?

Thanks in advance ️

  • Take it one step at a time, acknowledge what your worried about but don't jump to any conclusions and don't read too much. I was in similar position and had a really helpful chat with a nurse from an ovarian cancer charity helpline. It's horrible waiting for answers but try and distract yourself from searching for answers only the proper tests can give you.  I was fine by the way had to have tube and ovary removed due to size but no malignancy. Best wishes.
