Swollen Lymph nodes in 5yr old

I'm so worried for my little boy. We first noticed  swollenn lymph nodes in his neck 9 months ago... No obvious infection/illness to cause them to appear. At the time he was a very fit active boy (diagnosed as ADHD, Autism and Attachment disorder, also adopted so very limited medical history). Fast forward 9 months and following 7 visits to the doctors, weekly infections, larger swollen nodes, night sweats and a little boy who spends most of his day resting he is finally being referred to a paediatrician. He blood test in Feb was fine but his recent blood test showed slight inflammation and low platelets. Dr has ruled out vitamin deficiency, diabetes, glandular fever and a whole host of others things. Obviously the Dr is now very concerned and wants to rule out lymphoma. I suppose my question is if it's not cancer related what else coukd be causing these issues and what tests should I be insisting my liitle chat has at his hospital appt..... Any advice would be greatly recieved

  • Hi Seatown,

It's good to hear you now have the referral - hopefully this will give you answers or peace of mind.

It's difficult for anyone other than the doctors to advise on what the issue could be. It sounds like they're working hard to get the information they and you need.

Keep a note of any questions you want to ask the specialist - and I hope it's not too long to wait for the appointment.

    Wishing you all the best,
