Upcoming ultrasound.

Hello Everyone.

I suppose I'm here as I just wanted to talk to people who's mind has gone to the same place as mine is now. So I'm a mum of 3, 30yo and I have to have an ultrasound on my cervix on Wednesday ordered by the gynaecologist I was referred to after going to my Gp with the following symptoms. Irregular bleeding (in between periods I get intermittent bleeding throughout the day. I.e I will wipe after a wee sometimes bloody discharge of all kinds of blood from old to new sometimes no blood) I'm also on my period probably more then I am off and large clots whilst on my period and my periods are a lot heavier then they ever have been. Lots of not very nice discharge all the time. Severe stomach pains. Pain when I urinate, the gp did a normal swap to test for infection nothing was found. When I was examined they did say my cervix did seem rather inflamed and what as I can only describe as thrush a lot aswell. I suppose I just wondered if anyone could share their experience. I'm so scared. Google is not your friend in these situations but I just can't help myself. I am finding comfort in how long it has taken from my gynaecologist saying he wants to get a ultrasound and a biopsy for the appointment for the ultrasound to come through. Because I suppose if they were that worried I wouldn't be waiting weeks & weeks for a scan. But on the other hand I know the NHS is over stretched atm.
I'm not really sure what I'm asking. Just does this sound familiar??

many thanks to anyone who replies

  • Hello Belindajane,

It's understandable how you're feeling, but I do hope your next appointment goes well. When you are worried that you may have cancer, it can be tempting to look for answer online, but this can end up increasing anxiety rather than making you feel better. And the only person that can diagnose you is your doctor.

    I hope this is helpful,
