Painful lymph nodes, no swelling

Hi everyone. I am just wondering if anyone has experience anything similar please?

About 8 weeks ago, my neck and under jaw started getting strange pains, then in collarbone, then in chest and armpit. All in the areas where the lymph nodes are located. The pain has got progressively worse over time.

Was seen by my GP, they couldn't feel any swelling so told me to go to physio as it was probably muscular. Went to physio who told me it didn't sound muscular and are sending me back to my GP.

Waiting to hear back from my GP but I am worried sick.

It's hard to describe the pain but it definitely does not feel muscular to me. It's more of a constant burning, throbbing pain that doesn't ever go away. The pain is on both sides of neck, collarbone, chest and armpits.

I have no other symptoms apart from pain. Xx

  • Hello Laurie.T and welcome to Cancer Chat,

Poor you, you must feel like you have been going round in circles! Hopefully you will hear back from your GP soon and your doctor will be in the best position to tell you what might be going on. You could also ask to see a different GP if you wanted to get a second opinion on this. You can read more about getting a second opinion on this page

I hope that you will hear from other forum members who have experienced similar pain before and that they will be along shortly to share their story with you.

Keeping everything crossed for you that it turns out to be nothing of concern.

    Best wishes,
