Blood results tomorrow

Hi!

I have a swollen lymph node under my ear/jaw and have done for nearly 7 weeks now. It's grown a tiny bit, then shrinks a little, then goes back up again, but never bigger than the size of a bean. I'm going out of my mind with worry, I actually think I'm going crazy. It's tender most of the time. I've had a cold on and off for a few weeks so I'm hoping it's related to that. One of the GP's I saw said she thought that it wasn't anything to worry about as it was soft and not fixed, but it still hasn't gone. So, blood test today and hoping to find out the results tomorrow.

I'm not sure why I'm posting, sorry, I just can't help overthinking and worse case scenario.

  • Hello.  I won't tell you not to worry because you have the right to feel the way you do, but if it is any consolation, I have been diagnosed with cancer twice and on both occasions the lumps were hard and immovable.  Now I am NOT saying that cancer lumps are always hard because I am certainly not an expert, but when one of my Doctors was examining me and I asked her for her honest opinion, she did say that the fact that the lump was hard was a genuine concern, and as it turned out, it was indeed cancer.  Good luck for tomorrow, wishing you all the best, Violet, x

  • Thank you for your reply Violet. I'm so sorry you've had to go through it twice...how are you now?

I keep prodding and poking it to make sure it is squishy or whether I'm imagining it! Tomorrow can't come soon enough.

    I hope you are recovering/have recovered x
